Google India Invites AI Startups for 2026 Accelerator Programme to Boost Innovation
Google India has officially invited applications for its 2026 “Google for Startups Accelerator: India” programme, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence-driven startups. The initiative is aimed at supporting early-stage companies that are building innovative AI-based solutions and looking to scale their operations.
The programme targets startups that are in the Seed to Series A stage and are working with AI as a core part of their business model. This includes companies developing advanced technologies such as machine learning platforms, generative AI tools, automation systems, and data-driven solutions for real-world problems.
This year’s accelerator will run as a three-month, equity-free programme, meaning selected startups will not have to give up ownership in exchange for participation. Instead, they will receive structured mentorship, technical guidance, and access to Google’s advanced AI tools, cloud infrastructure, and global network of experts.
The programme is expected to begin in late June 2026 with an in-person bootcamp in Bengaluru, followed by virtual learning sessions, mentoring, and product development support. It will conclude with a Demo Day in October, where participating startups will showcase their innovations to investors and industry leaders.
Google has also highlighted key focus areas for this year’s cohort, including Agentic AI (automation and reasoning systems), Multimodal AI (handling text, audio, and video), Physical AI (robotics and smart systems), and Sovereign AI (localized AI models tailored to specific regions).
The move reflects Google’s growing commitment to strengthening India’s startup ecosystem, especially in the AI space. With India emerging as a major hub for digital innovation, initiatives like this accelerator aim to empower startups with the resources and expertise needed to compete on a global scale.
Industry experts believe that such programmes play a crucial role in bridging the gap between early-stage innovation and large-scale deployment. By providing mentorship, infrastructure, and exposure, Google is helping startups accelerate product development and improve their chances of success in a highly competitive market.
