Tech Mahindra is one of the companies on the WEF list that uses AI in practical applications

Indian IT services major Tech Mahindra has been recognised among global organisations leading real-world adoption of artificial intelligence, alongside companies such as AMD, Siemens and PepsiCo, according to a new report released by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The report, produced in collaboration with Accenture, identifies 20 “MINDS” organisations—short for Meaningful, Intelligent, Novel Deployable Solutions—that are driving high-impact AI applications across areas including disease detection, energy optimisation and supply-chain resilience. The study analysed hundreds of AI use cases across more than 30 countries and over 20 industries, including healthcare, energy and infrastructure.

An independent Impact Council comprising senior executives and AI experts identified common patterns among the most successful deployments. These include embedding AI into strategic decision-making, redesigning work to enhance human–AI collaboration, strengthening data foundations, modernising technology platforms and supporting innovation through strong, responsible governance frameworks.

Releasing the report during its Annual Meeting 2026, the WEF said the findings highlight organisations that have moved beyond experimentation to achieve measurable performance gains at scale. As AI investment accelerates globally, the report also points to a widening gap between companies capable of scaling AI effectively and those still struggling with deployment, while outlining lessons that can help bridge this divide.

Tech Mahindra was recognised in the “social and public good” category. The WEF noted that the company has successfully scaled multilingual large language models (LLMs) handling 3.8 million queries per month with 92% accuracy, enabling more inclusive digital services across the Global South.

Other organisations featured in the list include AMD and Synopsys from the US, EXL Services, and a joint initiative by KPMG and SAP in the information technology category. Chinese banking major ICBC was named under financial services, while companies such as Hitachi Rail and Fujitsu of Japan, Lenovo of China and Cambridge Industries of the US were included in the engineering, construction and infrastructure category.

According to the WEF, these organisations demonstrate how AI can be deployed responsibly and at scale to deliver tangible business and societal impact.
