TCS and Pearson collaborate to speed up AI-driven learning for international businesses
Pearson and Tata Consultancy Services have announced a multi-year strategic partnership aimed at helping enterprises build future-ready workforces through AI-powered learning and assessment solutions.
Under the collaboration, Pearson will bring its expertise in enterprise learning and assessment, while TCS will contribute its strengths in contextual AI and its TCS iON platform. Together, the companies aim to enable organisations to create continuously adaptive workforces by leveraging AI-driven insights to identify and bridge skill gaps, ultimately driving measurable business outcomes.
Omar Abbosh said that while companies are investing heavily in AI, many struggle to achieve tangible returns due to workforce readiness challenges. He emphasised that productivity gains depend on employees having both the skills and confidence to work effectively with new technologies. By integrating learning directly into the flow of work, the partnership seeks to accelerate skill development, improve problem-solving using AI, and deliver meaningful productivity improvements.
The collaboration will focus on integrating learning, assessment and skills intelligence into enterprise operating models, helping organisations adapt to rapidly evolving job roles in an AI-driven environment. Both companies will also co-develop and pilot new AI-enabled learning products and services, using rapid prototyping and real-world validation to enhance effectiveness and speed up deployment.
As part of the partnership, TCS will incorporate Pearson’s Versant English Test into its hiring and workforce development programmes. This move is expected to strengthen communication and language skills across early-career and professional training initiatives, aligning with TCS’ broader talent development strategy.
The integration of Pearson’s solutions into the TCS iON platform will create an end-to-end talent ecosystem tailored for the AI-first economy. By combining Pearson’s global credentials with TCS’ large-scale delivery capabilities, the partnership aims to support enterprises and governments in addressing skill requirements at scale through AI-based benchmarking, certification and workforce planning.
K Krithivasan said that while AI is transforming how work is done, long-term value will depend on how effectively organisations enable people to collaborate with intelligent systems. He added that the partnership will help enterprises build adaptability, trust and continuous learning into their operations, ensuring sustainable growth in an AI-driven world.
The initiative comes at a time when enterprises worldwide are accelerating investments in upskilling. According to Pearson’s research, enabling workers to collaborate with AI rather than replacing them could add between $4.8 trillion and $6.6 trillion to the US economy by 2034, highlighting the significant economic potential of human-AI collaboration.
The partnership also aligns with Pearson’s broader strategy of building deeper, long-term relationships with select partners to deliver stronger customer outcomes, expand joint go-to-market initiatives and drive shared growth in the evolving digital learning landscape.
