Opera wants you to pay $20 a month to use Neon, their AI-powered browser.

Opera has released its new AI-focused browser called Neon, now available to everyone after months of testing.
Neon costs $19.90 per month and includes advanced AI tools built directly into the browser.

Key Features of Opera Neon

  • Comes with an AI chatbot built into the interface.

  • Can use your browsing history as context, so you can ask it about:

    • A YouTube video you watched last week

    • An article you read yesterday

  • Lets you create repeatable task Cards, mini apps, and even videos.

  • Includes a deep research agent for detailed information on any topic.

  • Has a new Tasks feature — like tab groups but combined with AI-powered workspaces.

AI Models Included (for subscribers)

Users get access to top AI models:

  • Gemini 3 Pro

  • GPT-5.1

  • Veo 3.1

  • Nano Banana Pro

Subscribers also get access to Opera’s Discord community and can engage directly with developers.

Other Opera Browsers

Opera One, Opera GX, and Opera Air still offer free AI features, but Neon is the premium AI-first experience.

Industry Context

Other browsers like Google Chrome and Brave are adding AI more slowly and focusing on safety and isolation of AI features.
Brave is testing its AI agent in a nightly build with a separate, isolated AI profile.
