Iran-Israel conflict: TCS and Infosys postpone Middle East travel due to escalating hostilities and warn staff members
Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys have issued travel advisories to their employees due to rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Both companies have asked staff to avoid non-essential travel as airspace disruptions and flight cancellations increase in the region.
TCS has temporarily suspended all incoming and outgoing travel to the Middle East, including transit routes. In an internal advisory, the company said several countries have restricted airspace, making travel difficult and risky. TCS told employees in the region to avoid unnecessary travel and follow instructions from local government authorities.
The company said employee safety is its top priority. HR teams and local country leaders are staying in contact with employees and their families, and staff have been asked to contact local HR managers if they need support. TCS is also coordinating with local authorities and Indian diplomatic missions to monitor the situation while continuing services for clients.
Infosys has issued a similar advisory. The company strongly discouraged employees from travelling to the Middle East until further notice because many airlines have cancelled or changed flights due to restricted airspace between India and the region.
Infosys advised employees who have travel plans within the next 48 hours to check airline websites for updates and consider postponing their trips. The company said it is working closely with airline partners to track schedule changes and provide updated travel guidance.
Employees currently travelling have been told to stay calm and follow airline instructions, which will provide assistance if required. Infosys has operations across the Middle East and also has a presence in Israel through its subsidiary Panaya, which employs around 100 people.
TCS has about 5,82,000 employees globally, while Infosys has around 3,37,000 employees. These travel restrictions come as global companies review employee safety and business operations due to increasing regional instability and disruptions in international aviation.
