Indian Billionaire Bhavin Turakhia Self-Funds $30M AI-Native Office Suite Neo to Rival Microsoft

Bhavin Turakhia is making a personal bet on Artificial Intelligence for businesses. He is putting thirty million dollars of his money into a new company called Neo. This company is making a work platform that can compete with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Bhavin Turakhia has started companies before, like Directi, Radix, Titan and Zeta. He sold Directi for one hundred and sixty million dollars in 2014. Now he is using his money to fund Neo. He likes to use his money to start companies before asking other people for money.

Why is Bhavin Turakhia starting from scratch? He thinks that old software cannot be changed to work well with Artificial Intelligence. Just adding chatbots to office software is not enough.

Bhavin Turakhia said that if you want to make something like an iPhone you cannot use old parts from a Nokia phone. You have to make something new. He thinks that big companies like Microsoft and Google have a time adding Artificial Intelligence to their old systems. Neo is being made from the ground up with Artificial Intelligence in mind.

What does Neo offer? Neo is a work platform that has four main parts:

* Friday: an Artificial Intelligence assistant that can connect with other apps

* Tasket: a tool to manage projects

* Studio: a workspace for documents and spreadsheets

* Drive: a way for people and Artificial Intelligence to share files

Neo is special because it can work with different types of Artificial Intelligence. This means that companies can switch between Artificial Intelligence models without being stuck with one.

Bhavin Turakhia and his team made the version of Neo in just three months. They used a lot of Artificial Intelligence to help them build it. He thinks that it would have taken a lot longer and a lot more people to build it without Artificial Intelligence.

When will Neo be available? It is already being tested inside Bhavin Turakhias companies, including Zeta. It will be available to some customers in India and the US in August 2026. Everyone will be able to use it in January 2027.

Bhavin Turakhia is not trying to take over the market. He just wants Neo to be successful. He said that even if Neo gets a part of the market it will be bigger, than all the companies he has started before.

Now Neo has around forty-five employees, including eighteen engineers. They plan to hire people, especially those who know about Artificial Intelligence and software engineering. They want to grow to around one hundred employees by the end of the year.
