In just six months, the worth of vibe coding startup Replit has tripled to $9 billion
Replit has reached a new milestone after raising $400 million in fresh funding, pushing its valuation to about $9 billion. The funding round was led by returning investor Georgian Partners with participation from investors including G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures and Databricks Ventures.
Founder and chief executive Amjad Masad announced the development on social media platform X, revealing that the latest round also attracted high-profile backers including former basketball star Shaquille O'Neal and actor-musician Jared Leto.
Masad said the new funding will help the company expand its ambitions beyond coding tools and into artificial intelligence systems designed to enhance human creativity. According to the company, the capital will be used to accelerate product development, strengthen enterprise capabilities, expand integrations and advance agent-driven software creation.
Founded in 2016, Replit is a cloud-based platform that allows users to write, run and share code in multiple programming languages. The platform is widely used by beginners as well as professional developers to build, host and deploy software, websites and AI applications quickly.
Masad also said the company is investing heavily in global expansion, especially in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He added that the platform is currently used by about 85% of the companies listed in the Fortune 500.
The latest funding round follows a $250 million raise in September that valued the startup at $3 billion. In less than a year, Replit’s annual recurring revenue has surged from $2.8 million to about $150 million, supported by a global user base of around 40 million people.
The company recently told Forbes that it aims to reach $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026. Data from financial operations platform Ramp shows that Replit ranks among the fastest-growing software platforms as of March 2026, with strong adoption among new customers.
Commenting on India, Masad recently described the country as an increasingly important market for the company, noting that it is Replit’s second-largest market by builder count.
