DuckDuckGo is seeing a major rise in user adoption as growing numbers of internet users push back against Google’s aggressive shift toward AI-powered search experiences. The privacy-focused search engine reported a sharp increase in app installs and traffic following Google’s announcement of its largest Search transformation in decades.
Google recently revealed plans to redesign its search platform around artificial intelligence, replacing the traditional “blue links” experience with AI-generated answers, automated search agents, conversational responses, and background monitoring tools.
